We sampled their signature seafood package, which includes prawns, clams, and vegetables. The prawns, well-seasoned and flavorful, were the highlight of this dish. We also tried their Bebek Mekalas, a Balinese spiced duck, rich with the taste of coconut milk and Indonesian spices—definitely a standout choice. However, we found their Japanese offerings, including sushi and bento from their Kimi Sushi menu, to be less impressive. For drinks, we had iced tea and chocolate milkshakes, both sweet and refreshing. Dessert included jasuke and es campur, which also fell short of our expectations. In our opinion, Warung Ongan excels at Indonesian cuisine, but their other offerings are more standard.

Surrounded by greenery with a distant view of a dam, the restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor area features traditional bamboo gazebos, while the indoor section has a more conventional setup with tables and chairs that still complement the overall vibe. There’s also a meeting space available for small gatherings or business meetings, and a kids’ playground, making it an ideal spot for families.

The service at Warung Ongan was excellent. Our food arrived promptly, and the staff were attentive and friendly. We did experience a slight mishap when the waiter undercharged us, but we pointed it out so he could correct the mistake. It was a small error, but we appreciated the honesty and professionalism in handling it.

Although the Japanese food and desserts were a bit of a letdown, our experience still exceeded expectations, earning a higher score than the average Google Reviews (4.4 stars) and TripAdvisor (4.0 stars) ratings.
