Sunset Point Amed
With the backdrop of Mount Agung and a panoramic view of Jemeluk Beach, Sunset Point Amed quickly became our top spot to soak in the sunset magic.
The Experience—A Quiet Escape Before the Sunset Crowd
We arrived early, just as Sunset Point Amed opened its doors around 11 AM, and found the place blissfully empty. If you’re someone who enjoys a more peaceful setting away from the crowds, we recommend getting there at this time. It felt like we had the entire place, including the pool, to ourselves. However, be warned—it can get quite hot during these midday hours, so don’t forget sunscreen and a hat for heat protection.
The pool at Sunset Point Amed is a refreshing way to cool off from the tropical heat, though the chlorine level was notably high. After a dip, we noticed that it affected the color of our swimwear, so it’s best to wear something you won’t mind fading.
To enter Sunset Point Amed, there’s a 100K IDR fee for adults and 50K IDR for children, which can be redeemed for food and drinks. Given the amazing views and overall atmosphere, it’s a great deal.
The Food—Tasty Bites with a View! (Rating: ⭐️4/5)
We sampled some of the offerings at Sunset Point Amed: Pizza, Chicken Fingers, Mixed Juice, Chocolate Milkshake, Iced Tea, and Vanilla Milkshake.
The pizza was medium-sized, perfect for sharing, with a crispy crust and delicious toppings. The Chicken Fingers were equally delightful, served in generous portions with a crispy, golden coating. Both dishes were ideal for poolside lounging at Sunset Point Amed.
As for drinks, the milkshakes stole the show. Both the Chocolate and Vanilla Milkshakes were rich and creamy, the perfect refreshment after a swim. While the Mixed Juice and Iced Tea were pleasant, they weren’t as memorable as the milkshakes.
The Service—Mixed but Efficient (Rating: ⭐️4/5)
Service at Sunset Point Amed was mostly positive. The staff were quick to take our order, and the food arrived promptly. However, not all staff were as friendly as we had hoped. That said, the efficiency of the service and the beautiful setting made up for it.
The Atmosphere—Unbeatable Sunset Views! (Rating: ⭐️4/5)
The real star of Sunset Point Amed is its dual view of Mount Agung and Jemeluk Bay. As the name suggests, this spot is all about the sunset, and it certainly delivered. From the poolside, we watched the sky transform into a canvas of colors as the sun dipped below the horizon. If you’re into photography or simply want to experience Bali’s most iconic sunset, Sunset Point Amed is the place to be.
A great perk is that once you’ve paid the entry fee, you can return later in the day to Sunset Point Amed for sunset viewing without paying again. This flexibility allows you to enjoy Amed during the day and return to Sunset Point Amed for the main event—sunset—without additional cost. Plus, there’s no minimum spend requirement for food or drinks, making it a fantastic value.
Final Thoughts—A Must-Visit for Sunset Lovers! (Overall Rating: ⭐️4/5)
Overall, Sunset Point Amed is a fantastic place to relax, enjoy great food, and witness one of Bali’s best sunset views. While the pool’s high chlorine level and some less friendly staff were slight drawbacks, the overall experience more than made up for it. The peaceful atmosphere in the early hours, coupled with the stunning sunset, makes Sunset Point Amed a must-visit when you’re in Amed.
We rated our experience at 4 out of 5 stars, which is higher than their Google Reviews average of 3.4 and the 3-star rating on TripAdvisor. If you’re in East Bali and looking for a place to unwind and catch the sunset, Sunset Point Amed should be at the top of your list!
