Located just steps from the beach, this small hut-like eatery offers not only food but also a few other services, like surfboard rentals, sunbeds, and even simple lodges for surfers. But of course, we were most interested in what they had to offer for lunch. Here’s our detailed review.

The Food—Hit or Miss! (Rating: ⭐️3.5/5)
We ordered a variety of dishes to get a real feel for the menu: Nasi Goreng (fried rice), Club Sandwich, Nasi Campur (mixed rice dish), Gado Gado (mixed vegetables with peanut sauce), Watermelon juice, and a Chocolate milkshake.  

Let’s start with the Nasi Goreng, which, unfortunately, was a huge letdown. The taste was off—oddly seasoned, leaving us puzzled as to why it’s considered “the most edible” dish according to Google reviews. Maybe our taste buds didn’t quite match up with those of other reviewers, but it was definitely not a highlight of our meal.  

On the bright side, the Club Sandwich was a pleasant surprise. The portion size was just right, and the flavor was spot-on. It was fresh, well-prepared, and easily the best dish we tried. If you’re unsure what to order, the Club Sandwich is a safe and tasty option.  

Next up, the Gado Gado had great potential. The veggies were cut well, and everything tasted fresh, but the peanut sauce lacked the thickness and depth of flavor that could’ve made this dish a standout. With a little improvement, this could easily become a favorite for anyone visiting.  

Now, about the Nasi Campur—don’t expect a traditional Balinese mixed rice dish here. What we were served felt more like Lalapan Ayam—fried chicken with raw vegetables and sambal (spicy sauce). It was tasty, but the mislabeling might confuse those looking for a true Balinese Nasi Campur experience.  

The drinks—Watermelon juice and Chocolate milkshake—were standard for a warung. Nothing extraordinary, but refreshing enough for a hot day by the beach.

Service—Friendly but Slow! (Rating: ⭐️4/5) 
The service at Warung Ossy was friendly and welcoming. The owners were lovely, greeting us with warm smiles and making us feel at home. However, we did notice that the service was a bit slow, particularly when it came to getting our food. We weren’t in a rush, but if you’re starving after a long surf session, the wait could be frustrating. That being said, the laid-back vibe of the warung and the beautiful view of Balangan Beach made the wait more bearable.

Atmosphere—Beachfront Bliss! (Rating: ⭐️5/5)  
What Warung Ossy lacks in food quality, it more than makes up for with its unbeatable location and charm. The warung itself is a simple, rustic hut right on the beach, offering direct views of the ocean. You can feel the sea breeze as you eat, and the sound of waves crashing in the background adds to the overall beachside experience.  

The warung also provides other services, like surfboard rentals and sunbeds, making it a great spot for surfers or anyone wanting to lounge by the beach after a meal. They even have two simple lodges for those looking for an affordable place to stay overnight. All of these little touches make Warung Ossy feel more special than your average beachside warung.

Final Thoughts—A Gem for the View! (Overall Rating: ⭐️4.2/5) 
In conclusion, Warung Ossy Balangan might not serve the best food, but its laid-back vibe, beachfront location, and friendly owners make it a must-visit for anyone spending the day at Balangan Beach. The Club Sandwich was the highlight of our meal, but the stunning view and relaxed atmosphere were what really made our visit memorable.  

Our overall rating is 4.2 out of 5, slightly higher than their average Google Review score of 4.1. If you’re looking for a casual place to grab a bite, relax by the beach, and maybe even rent a surfboard or sunbed, Warung Ossy is a fantastic option. Just don’t set your expectations too high for the food—come for the view and the vibe instead!
